(€350 for Tapestry Weaving and €200 for Natural Dyeing -€500 for both – accommodation not included)
Hosts: Stathis Katsarelli and Maria Scordialos
We invite you to learn tapestry weaving & natural dyeing with Stathis Katsarelis, a Greek artist who has exchanged synthetic brushes for naturally dyed fibres to create tapestries and multimedia paintings. Stathis’ art is inspired by living traditions in contemporary ways. Since 1981 he has been working and exploring the art of tapestry. He creates his pieces on vertical looms, with perseverance, dedication and hard work, and continuously learns and renews the secrets of this art, combining different techniques.
The intention of our tapestry weaving and natural dyeing workshop is to introduce or deepen into this art form in beautiful natural surroundings which both inspire and relax. The workshop is offered in two parts that can either be followed per section or in its entirety. The first three days focus on tapestry weaving and the following two days offer the foundations of natural dyeing. Advanced or beginners can participate as the workshop is tailored to individual needs.
The Tapestry Weaving section include:
The Natural Dyeing part covers:
We will work in a rhythm where the mornings will be in a collective learning space and the afternoon will be open. We will enjoy home-cooked and locally sourced Greek food, beautiful natural surroundings and good conversations. We will weave our individual lives over the five days and create a collectively woven experience.

Living in Open Space and the Living Wholeness Patterns / August 17 - 24, 2016
€350 for the week – not including accommodation
€50 a day for our home-made meals and an offering to the land (you are welcome to come for a few days or the whole week!)
Hosts: Maria Scordialos & Vanessa Reid
Axladitsa is a farm that cultivates olives and new cultures. It is the home place of the Living Wholeness practice and Living Wholeness Institute where we are action-researching systemic transformation and the regenerative cycles of life, particularly in places and times of fragmentation and crisis. It is also an ancient land with 350 olive trees, a vineyard, natural farming - it is full of stories and wild life. The nature is the biggest participant and it inspires and welcomes people back to their natural and wild.
Many people ask us when they should visit and "When will others be there so they can join in?"
So in response, we have created an Open Week when two of the co-founders of Living Wholeness – Maria Scordialos and Vanessa Reid - will be on the land. We invite you to this time of being in parea (good company in Greek), a time when a synchronistic group of people finds themselves on the land, a time to meet kindred spirits, live the rhythm of the land and in alignment with the season, engage in meaningful conversations and live the flow and in the emergent qualities of living wholeness.
It a time to bring your dreams, projects, longings so that you can be with them or share them with others. We will cook together, take care of the space, rest, swim at the local beach, and basically just live in parea for the week to see what emerges between us. It is also a chance to connect with the wider matrix of world work that Axladitsa has been pioneering, and with the big changes that are emerging through Greece at this time.
